They are just a lot more versatile. I've never played a single cut and wonder whether fret access is a problem compared to the double cut. It's all your choice. The single cut body (I'm thinking Gretsches here but others too) often extends further toward the nut, giving a better balance leverage point for the strap button. Thanks ..
