About the journal. The South African Family Practice is a peer-reviewed scientific journal, which strives to provide primary care physicians (and their teams), as well as researchers, with a broad range of scholarly work in the disciplines of family medicine, primary health care, rural medicine, district health and other related fields. Formed in 2003 as a collaborative effort of seven family medicine organizations, the Annals publishes around 120 articles per year across six bimonthly issues. The South African Family Practice is a peer-reviewed scientific journal, which strives to provide primary care physicians (and their teams), as well as researchers, with a broad range of scholarly work in the disciplines of family medicine, primary health care, rural medicine, district health and other related fields. The Journal of Family Practice is a peer-reviewed and indexed journal that provides its nearly 103,000 family physician readers with timely, practical, and evidence-based information that they can immediately put into practice. A manuscript will be reviewed for possible publication with the understanding that it is being submitted to Journal of Family Medicine and Primary Care alone at that point in time and has not been published anywhere, simultaneously submitted, or already accepted for publication elsewhere.
